Key Differences Between Kvint-6 and Kvint-5
For those familiar with the previous generation, Kvint-5, the differences introduced in Kvint-6 will be of interest. In summary, Kvint-6 offers the following new features and capabilities:
- new system-integration tools make it possible to build enterprise-scale automated process control systems;
- a new network architecture, including new network-redundancy tools, raises the speed and reliability of information exchange in an integrated automated process control system to a new level;
- new turbine-control and electronic-protection tools (the turbine controller) enable Kvint-6 to perform automatic frequency and power control of power units;
- new operational-mode tools simplify the work of operating personnel and provide new information capabilities;
- new engineering and commissioning tools reduce the time required to design automated process control systems and make the process even simpler and more visual;
- new hardware solutions increase the system’s performance and reliability, while the new controller layout makes controllers easier to use;
- new I/O modules, new library algorithms and expanded memory improve controller functionality and efficiency.

Kvint-5 and Kvint-6 have a high degree of continuity. At the enterprise level, some projects can be implemented using Kvint-5 and others using Kvint-6, while information integration between these projects is maintained.
