New Features of the Multi-Purpose Remikont R-380 Controller

New Elements New Features and Capabilities
New Processor The Remikont R-380 is equipped with a new processor whose performance is twice that of the R-310 processor. As a result, even complex process programs are executed in 10–20 ms.
Turbine Controller The new multi-purpose Remikont R-380 includes turbine-control tools for automatic frequency and power control tasks, as well as turbine-protection tools, including an electronic safety system. The R-380 includes new I/O modules, library algorithms and redundancy tools specific to the turbine controller.
New Interface The Remikont R-380 connects to the new gateway through an Ethernet network. This improves the reliability and performance of network communication.
New I/O Modules

1) The R-380 uses new ADC modules with no hardware jumpers. Both the measurement range in each channel and the sensor type are now selected by software.

2) The Remikont R-380 also includes a new analogue input/output module with analogue input and output channels.

Controller Memory In the new Remikont R-380, memory available to the user has increased by approximately 30%. This means that the range of tasks performed by a single controller increases by roughly the same amount.
New Redundancy Tools

1) The R-380 provides high-speed, bumpless switching of analogue outputs.

2) The R-380 provides access to error information from both the active and passive controllers.

New Power Converters New power converters make it possible to replace individual channels quickly without shutting down the remaining channels or disconnecting cable connections.
Smooth Start of Power Units The Remikont R-380 cabinet is equipped with new tools that ensure smooth power-up of power units. This resolves issues related to inrush currents and breaker tripping when power is supplied to the cabinet.
New Cabinet and Layout The R-380 controller is installed in a new, more spacious Rittal cabinet. Terminal blocks and power converters are mounted on a DIN rail. This allows more channels to be installed in the cabinet and makes cable connections more convenient.
New Cabinet Temperature-Monitoring Tools The Remikont R-380 cabinet is equipped with four temperature sensors that can be installed near terminal blocks for compensation-cable connections. This provides more accurate cold-junction temperature monitoring for thermocouples and reduces the effect of cabinet temperature on measurement accuracy.
