Kvint includes a powerful computer-aided design system for automated process control systems. The entire project is created on a shared project-database server. Five specialized software packages work with the server:
Administrator – a project-administration system. It defines the overall logical structure of the project and project-wide parameters, as well as access rights to specific information.
Arcade – a project database-management system. It defines the attributes and parameters of all operational objects of the control system.
Graphite – a graphical editor for process diagrams. It is used to prepare process diagrams, define navigation rules between them, and link their elements to the project database.
Pylon – a controller process-programming environment with a graphical interface. It is used to prepare control function diagrams and logical sequential programs.
Meson – a user-friendly visual-programming environment for calculation tasks.
The Kvint CAD system creates a single project database and is designed for multi-user access. This means that several people or groups, located at the same or different sites, can work on one project simultaneously.
The photograph on the right shows specialists from Electrocentronaladka JSC (ECN) designing the automated process control systems for 300 MW Power Unit No. 2 at CHP-22 (Mosenergo) and the Ferrochrome Plant in Kazakhstan. This organization has completed many Kvint-based projects.
